Matt and I are going to VEGAS!!! Hooray for our first trip post-children! It's about time right? Well, my wonderful in-laws have volunteered to watch the kids for a few days so we could get some mommy and daddy alone time. Before they came to their senses we booked the trip today and are leaving in 3 weeks! We are both very excited and although it is only a 3 night trip, we are already planning what to do. Although everyday we still feel very blessed for our lives, this year has been challenging with 2 basement floods, electrical re-wiring of most of our house, new air/heating system, raising 4 children, job changes, etc. Ahhh, to get away. Thanks in advance to Memaw and Papaw. We love you.
P.S. To those of you who understood the blog title, you watch way too much "Little Einstein's."

Holiday Weekend
We had a good holiday weekend. Matt was able to go to the race on Sunday (an annual tradition now) with his friend Josh. Josh's wife, Jody and their two children were able to come over after the race was finished. We had a great time watching our children play, eating, drinking, and talking. The boys were even able to get in some soccer until the ball went over the neighbor's fence (oops!). It was great weather and I hope that we are able to enjoy many more nights like this over the summer.
My mom and I took the kids downtown while Matt was at the race. It was a perfect time to go since many people were at the race or out of town. We walked around monument circle and had lunch at the mall. It was nice to get all the kids out of the house. Everyone was very well behaved and enjoyed themselves. I think the highlight for Jackson was riding the escalator with Nana about 5 times. The longer I have been a mom the more amazed I am about how the smallest thing can excite a child. Why we bother to buy toys or go to lengths to go somewhere when they enjoy the simple things is something I still am learning:).
Grant and Liam are now 11 months old. They are getting to be such big boys. Can't believe it has almost been a year since they were born. This year has gone by the fastest yet!
Today my dad was here to visit for a few hours and the rest of the day we just hung around the house and enjoyed being lazy (well, as lazy as you can be with 4 kids!).
Above are some photos of the twins and Josh and Jody's little boy Logan playing this weekend and a picture of the twins at 11 months old. Enjoy!

Bridal shower
Matt's mom was over today with her camera's memory card so watch out as I now have many more pictures to post. These are from Matt's sister Kelly's bridal shower this past Saturday. As you can see she will make a beautiful bride. She recevied some great gifts and I was able to see what will be their first home together. The top photo is of Kelly and her bridesmaids, middle one is of the cake (Matt's mom made it--it was a tropical themed party), and the bottom is of the bride-to-be with the mothers (hers and Charley's). Only two more weeks until Kelly and Charley become Mr. and Mrs. Corbett!

Steuer Idol
Now that American Idol is over (boo hoo), here are the Steuer family's American Idols. The video of Jackson is from a year ago. It was so cute that I've always wanted to share it, but didn't think it would come through on email. Mia's video is from today. As fast as they grow, Grant and Liam's shouldn't be too far behind. Congrats to David Cook and I'm now anxiously awaiting January 2009 when it all starts again!

Girlie Girl
Thank goodness with 3 boys to raise that I have little Mia. She is definitely "all girl" and loves to play with her dolls, have bows in her hair, and have her finger and toenails painted. She really liked the way Nana (my mom) had her nails painted and asked Nana to paint hers the same. She sat really still and the results are above. I don't know many 2 year olds with french manicured nails. We could be in for some trouble in the future! Too cute!

Outdoor Fun
The whole family has been much happier since the warm weather has come. Jackson and Mia love to play on our deck. It is big enough that they can ride bikes, play with their sand & water table, and run around. Their favorite thing however is bubble blowing. We have quite an assortment of blowers and seem to go through the 99 cent giant Walmart bubble bottle quite quickly. Here are some pictures to enjoy.
Green thumbs
This weekend we managed to start a garden. (I say "we" loosely because with working, a wedding shower to attend, and childcare Matt did most of the work!) We planted tomatos, potatoes, peppers, peas, green beans and a few others. This is our first try with a garden so hopefully we will see some results, although I am a bit nervous about the time required to maintain it. I think the kids will like seeing the vegetables growing. They really got into helping plant, at least for a little while:).

New to this blog thing...
So I decided to start this mainly so that our family and friends can have more access to pictures of the Steuer clan and can check in whenever. I may not always be very up to date with the posts, but I'll give it a try. Here goes nothing!!
