Mia is still totally obsessed with her baby sister. Kate seems pretty smitten as well. She is always quick to give her big sis a toothless grin! Such love for each other. I will remind myself of this later when they are fighting over bathroom time, clothing, or boys:).
Kate is doing well. She had her two month checkup this week. She almost weighs 10 pounds now! We are still breastfeeding and supplementing with formula. I am back at work now and am able to pump so that we are still able to do both and it is really working pretty well. She is definitely growing and happy and that is all that matters!
As for other changes in the Steuer house...after years of discussing this, we have decided that life would be much easier (as if it can be that much easier with 5 little ones!) if one of us did not work. Matt has quit his job and has taken a position at the ill-paying in cash, but highly lucrative in love and memories job of at-home daddy. He may need to invest in some blood pressure medication, but so far it seems to be going well as we end our second week. We get to see each other more and have more time to get projects done around the house as well as spend more time together as a family. Matt is enjoying cooking for the kids and the house is clean when I come home. We both know the difficulties and potential animosity that could occur and have prayed and discussed them so that we are entering it on open ground. I give him time to unwind when I am home and he helps me with household chores so that I can relax when I get home. We are both pretty excited about the change especially since we have been working opposite shifts and burning the candle at both ends for 5 years now. We totally needed the change. I am proud of him that he wants to have such an active role in the kids lives. Being home with them everyday is very challenging, but he is up for it and I think I have a pretty great husband! Excited to see how this next chapter unfolds!
