Jackson and Daddy's Snow Fort

Jackson and Matt built a snow fort when we had all the snow these past few weeks. Jackson had a great time with Matt-they stayed outside for forever digging and playing. Jackson has a mini shovel he got for Christmas from Matt's parents and he had a good time using it with daddy to clear off the driveway and sidewalk as well as build his fort. The ultimate sadness happened when he discovered Sunday morning that the fort had fallen in since the temperature had gone up. He seriously hung his head down for a minute and was so bummed out. We got some good pictures and a video to remember it by anyway.

Spooky Children's Museum

Kathy and I intended to take the kids to the Zoo and celebrate Zoo Boo for Halloween, but mother nature refused to cooperate. Instead we decided to celebrate at the Children's museum. Jackson and Mia wore their costumes and I think they all had a good time. I bought year-long passes plus two so that when family comes in to visit we can all go to the museum for a year. Now that the twins are no longer free, it was really cheaper to go for the yearly pass. With winter coming, I am looking forward to taking Grant and Liam only when Jackson and Mia are in school and being able to focus on them more while we are there. Here are some pictures we took that day.

Appleworks

We took the kids to Appleworks orchard last Friday night. It was a perfect fall evening and we had a good time. They had a giant slide, toy tractor, hay bales for climbing, and a small petting zoo. We enjoyed some apple cider slushes and the kids had some penny candy. Of course we also got some pumpkins to carve and a few apples to eat. I so love this time of year!

Trip to Winamac

Here are some other pictures that are delayed from our trip to Winamac in the beginning of August. The last two years, my mom and I have taken the kids to stay at my Grandma's house for a few days in the summer and take them to Indiana Beach. The kids really look forward to it. We had a great few days this year playing at the park with a friend from high school's children, crossing the swinging bridge, riding the rides at Indiana Beach, riding in the wagon and toys at Grandma's, eating pancakes at Aunt Pam's, and swinging on the porch swing. It was a relaxing few days and was nice to visit everyone. Enjoy the pictures!

State Fair

Ok, so these pictures are very delayed (like over a month), but wanted to share these from our two trip adventure to the state fair. I really always enjoy going, but this year the two trips were pretty abbreviated. Highlights include watching the twins eat their first corndog, Jackson and Mia holding baby chicks in their hands, seeing the hot air balloons get blown up at dust, and seeing Jackson and Mia getting so excited to ride the carnival rides on the midway.

Ohio Picnic

Here are some pictures from awhile ago when Kathy and Jim took all the kids to Ohio for a visit. Matt was on a canoe trip with a friend and I had to work. It looks like they had a great time visiting with everyone and didn't miss us a bit! Below is a video of Mia singing "Where is thumbkin?" to GiGi. It isn't the full song, but you get the idea. Love how she is talking about the thumbkin, but putting her first finger up!
